Meghan Markle reveals reason she ditched American Riviera Orchard name - but locals may not be convinced

Early on Tuesday morning, Meghan Markle revealed that she had rebranded her lifestyle range, American Riviera Orchard. The Duchess of Sussex, 43, took to her Instagram, which boasts 1.8million followers, to introduce the new name for her passion project, now called 'As Ever'.  The mother-of-two claimed that the name 'limited' her to things that were made in the area, very much suggesting that she wanted to alter the brand and stating that she had been working on this 'for the past few years'. The former royal, who now resides in Montecito after leaving the Firm in 2020 with Prince Harry said in the clip: ' Last year, I had thought, 'American Riviera', that sounds like such a great name. It's my neighbourhood; it's a nickname for Santa Barbara, but it limited me to things that were just manufactured and grown in this area. Then Netflix came on, not just as a partner in this show but also as a partner in my business, it was huge. So I thought about it and I've been waiting for a moment to share a name I secured in 2022 and this is the moment and it's called As Ever.' However, the U-turn has come after Vanity Fair's expose in January poked holes at the accuracy of the company being called American Riviera Orchard, considering the area is understood to be Santa Barbara, indicating that Meghan perhaps wanted to take focus away from her faux pas altogether....read
